10-year-old Johnny has had enough. Every night he is kept awake by his mother's screams, as she suffers at the hands of his abusive stepfather. Tonight is different. Packing a backpack of candy, clothes and toys, Johnny decides to strike out on his own and never return. But when his little brother Kevin wakes up to find his brother leaving him, Johnny must decide whether running away is really the answer.

"Johnny's Leaving" is the debut short film from writer/director Kali Baker-Johnson, who wrote it over 6 years ago as a short scene for a college application. The piece soon took on a life of it's own and has now been vividly realized by a talented team of artists and a promising group of up-and-coming actors. Brotherhood Productions presents it's first short film "Johnny's Leaving".
